Play in the Park and Play in the Forest sessions for children aged 5 to 11.

  • Play in the Park is free, there are turn up and play sessions across the district.
  • Play in the Forest sessions, simply turn up and pay on the day.

Play in the Park is all about playing games and having fun outdoors.

Trained play workers travel to a range of locations throughout the district, taking with them an exciting array of play and sports equipment, games and even art and craft materials. Everyone is encouraged to join in the fun - children, young people, parents and carers are all welcome to come and play.

The sessions are FREE of charge and open to boys and girls aged from 5 to 19 years.
Our motto is:

There is no need to book, just turn up and join in!

Play in the Park runs in the Easter and Summer school holidays and is supported by your local Parish or Town Council.

Please note – ‘Play in the Park’ sessions are provided as play opportunities for children and young people, and not as childcare. All participants may come and go as they please. Play ranger staff are not obliged to prevent any child from leaving the session. Parents and carers are free to stay and join in.

Play in the Forest is all about playing games and having fun in the forest. Play rangers will bring along a wide range of equipment and activities for children and young people to enjoy and will them explore the forest. Activities will include den building, nature trails and woodland arts and crafts.

The cost is £3.00 to attend

Play ranger staff are not obliged to prevent any child from leaving the session. Parents or carers are free to stay and join in. There are no toilet facilities at the sites and limited car parking. No booking required, just turn up.
