1100TMC Compliance Officer (Trainee) x 2

Fixed Term Contract for 12 months with a view to extend for a further 12 months 

Full time – 36 hours per week

Salary: £20,541- £22,401 per annum plus £857 Inner Fringe Allowance per annum

We are looking for two Compliance Officer’s whose main duties will be to carry out reviews of existing benefit claims to ensure that the correct level of Housing Benefit and Local Council Tax Support/Discount is granted, and to carry out reassessments of entitlement as required.

We are looking to appoint someone who may not have worked in a Local Authority Council Tax or Benefits team before but they must have transferable skills and a willingness to learn. The successful person should have excellent communication skills and some knowledge of Housing Benefit, Local Council Tax Support and Council Tax discounts.


1064UKA Senior Building Control Surveyor

Full time: 36 hours per week

Salary: £40,590 – £43,696 per annum (rising to £44,510 per annum after 5 years continuous service) This salary is inclusive of £857 Inner Fringe per annum and includes a Market Supplement of £7,500 per annum

The ideal candidate will need to demonstrate a proven recent track record and have an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of Building Control and allied legislation. The post holder will be responsible for providing building control services across a geographical area within the district and as a member of a team within Epping Forest District Council. You must be committed to a high level of customer service. In addition, you will be required to develop and maintain a strong portfolio of partnerships within the LABC approved scheme.

Salary £15,014 pro rata, per annum (rising to £15,613 pro rata, per annum after 5 years continuous service) plus £840 Inner Fringe Allowance pro rata, per annum

Casual role over school holidays and potential hours during term time

The Council is looking to recruit new Community Activity Workers to support the delivery of its innovative, activities programme.

Candidates should have experience of working with children and young people from a variety of backgrounds, as well as be friendly, outgoing and have an enthusiastic attitude. A knowledge and understanding of the values and benefits of working in a community or sports setting would be desirable, along with the ability to work as part of a team.
