12-month Temporary Contract from date of appointment (with the possibility of an extension)

Salary: £18,319 - £19,446 per annum including £857 Inner London Fringe Allowance (maximum salary increasing to £19,819 after five years continuous service)

Do you have common sense, enthusiasm and the ability to deal with people sympathetically?

Can you keep a cool head in an emergency?

YES?  Then you may be the person we are looking for to manage the Council’s sheltered housing scheme at Jubilee Court, Waltham Abbey.  As the Scheme Manager you will visit residents every duty day, monitor their well being, provide support and assistance when required and promote social activities.

With the help of modern alarm equipment you will be able to contact tenants and respond quickly in emergencies, summoning doctors or other professional help as necessary.

In addition to visiting residents at Jubilee Court you will also be required to visit around 40 properties designated for older people in the Waltham Abbey area.

A flexible approach and ability to organise your own workload is essential.  Some administration and record keeping is required.

You would work a 36-hour, five-day week and hold a current full driver’s licence.

You will be required to participate in on-call arrangements with other Scheme Managers. 

This post is exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.

You will be required to have a Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) check.
