Activities and Events
Community Health and Wellbeing run a wide range of events and activities throughout the year. Please also see the upcoming events calendar and the read it section below for more information.

We offer coached badminton sessions for young people of all abilities aged 7-18 years of age. The sessions take place every Monday during term time at the Epping Sports Centre. They are for all young people no matter what their experience of the sport as we have expert coaches that will help them develop their skills.
Participants are asked to attend the session that is appropriate for their level of ability so that they can learn and develop with young people who are at their same level.
- Beginners 4:00pm – 5:00pm
- Intermediate/Advanced 5:00pm – 6:00pm
The first session for all new participants is free! All sessions after the initial trial must be paid for on a term time basis by contacting the Community Services team.
Futsal is a small sided football game that places considerable demand on technique, movement, tactical awareness and fitness. Players are introduced to futsal through a variety of games and match play.
Futsal Club Session - £3 Per Person
Every Tuesday (Term Time Only) 4pm – 5pm
Ages 6- 14 (Age groups are split)
Futsal Turn Up and Play - £2 Per Person
Every Tuesday (April – July Term Time Only) 5pm – 6pm

Get Active Epping Forest
Epping Forest District Council has teamed up with Enjoy Fitness to get people more active with an exciting brand new initiative called Get Active Epping Forest. We offer a variety of sessions that will give people the chance to improve their:
- Body image
- and Health and Wellbeing
These sessions are great whatever your age, ability. Whether you have not exercised for a while or exercise regularly, our qualified instructors will be able to tailor the sessions to meet your needs and ensure you enjoy yourself. Plus there is the chance to have a chat with the instructor and other participants as part of the session.
All sessions are £3.50 per session and your first session is free!
Get Active: Fun and social activities to improve your health and wellbeing. These sessions are great whatever your age, ability and whether you have not exercised for a while or exercise regularly.
Monday and Thursday 10.30am – 11.30am at Waltham Abbey Community Association, 46 Crooked Mile, Waltham Abbey, Essex, EN9 1QD
Dance Fitness: A hip swivelling workout – combination of Caribbean, Latin and African Dance moves combined with aerobic movements to create a fun and effective workout. No previous dance experience necessary, just come and enjoy the movement!
Wednesday 6pm – 7pm at Limes Centre, Limes Avenue, Chigwell, IG7 5LP
Get Active Circuits: An energising workout good for all fitness levels. It will combine high intensity moves with body weight and resistance training. A full body workout, improving cardiovascular fitness and muscular endurance for all ages and abilities.
Thursday 7pm -8pm at Limes Centre, Limes Avenue, Chigwell, IG7 5LP

Find out how to 'Stay Well this Winter' with these free informative sessions. We have joined up with West Essex Clinical Commissioning Group to deliver a number of stimulating and interactive health and wellbeing events across the district. The days include talks from:

There will be a range of informative stands along with free health checks and activities as well as lunch included.
