Help shape your housing service

Housing, planning and environment news

We are looking for residents in the district to have their say on housing policies, estates, repairs and more.

Resident involvement

Resident involvement is how we find out what matters to our tenants and leaseholders.

We are looking for tenants eager to contribute positively to the community and help implement meaningful changes. Participation is free and tenants with a positive attitude who can dedicate some of their time on a voluntary basis are encouraged to sign up.

Tenant and Leaseholder Panel

Throughout the year, we will be creating more opportunities for resident involvement. This includes the expansion of the Tenant and Leaseholder Panel, which will welcome new members later this year.

To make participation easier and more accessible, meetings will be hosted throughout the district.

The Regulator of Social Housing

Recent changes to the Regulator of Social Housing and the introduction of Consumer Standards have seen a big push on residents to be more involved with their landlords.

This will give our housing tenants the opportunity to:

  • Scrutinise and shape housing services
  • Collaborate with the council on housing policies and procedures
  • Provide input on day-to-day operations on estates
  • Work alongside EFDC housing partner, Qualis

Residents voices

I believe that the voices of our residents are vital in shaping the future of our community.

We are committed to listening to their insights and experiences regarding housing policies, estate management, and repairs. Resident involvement is essential.

By participating in our initiatives, you can help create a more responsive and effective housing service that truly reflects the needs of our tenants and leaseholders. I encourage all Epping Forest District Council housing tenants to join us in making meaningful changes to the community.

Cllr Nigel Bedford, Portfolio Holder for Housing and HGGT

I joined the group to make a meaningful impact on the services housing tenants receive and to help shape the plans and policies that influence their lives. I urge other tenants eager to be part of change to join the group.

When we unite to listen, discuss, and make decisions collaboratively, it fosters a strong partnership between tenants and the council.
