Third annual stakeholder event at Ninefields

Business news, Community news, News

On Thursday 6 February, Waltham Abbey Leisure Centre was host to Ninefields third annual stakeholder event.

Improving health and wellbeing

The day was organised by Epping Forest District Council (EFDC), with the aim at improving the health and enhancing the wellbeing of residents.

Residents were given the chance to connect with various service providers and partner organisations working together to integrate their services within the community, making it easier for residents to access vital support.

Representatives from key organisations included:

  • Essex Police
  • Essex Recovery Foundation
  • Open Roads Visions
  • Citizens Advice
  • NHS, Herts & West Essex
  • EFDC benefits, resident involvement and tenancy and estates officers
  • Essex County Council,
  • Essex Child & Wellbeing Service
  • Lee Valley Regional Park Authority
  • Places Leisure
  • Upshire Primary School
  • Department of Work & Pensions
  • Maynard Court Surgery
  • Mind in West Essex
  • Epping Forest District Museum
  • Essex Probation
  • St Clare Hospice
  • Community Agents

Developing support systems with residents

The event served as a vital platform for service providers to connect and develop support systems with residents. Providers were given the chance to commit to pledges that demonstrate how they can support residents in line with the 5 priorities outlined in the Epping Forest District Health and Wellbeing Strategy:

  1. Improving mental health and wellbeing
  2. Reducing loneliness and social isolation
  3. Increasing physical activity
  4. Supporting residents in response to the rising cost of living
  5. Tackling alcohol and substance misuse

This free-to-attend event highlights the collaboration among partner organisations throughout the system. Now in its third year of connecting stakeholders and residents, EFDC strives to build a support network that integrates services within the community, helping to identify solutions for local health challenges and support residents.

A big thank you to the staff and providers whose efforts contributed to the success of this event.
