Beaconsfield Road apology

Housing, planning and environment news, News

Epping Forest District Council has issued an apology following significant damage caused to a grass verge.

I would like to apologise to residents. A number of confusing messages have appeared online following damage to the grass in Beaconsfield Road, Epping earlier this week. Blame has been erroneously attributed to various companies.

In fact at this stage it is not clear how the damage was caused. We have been assured by a subcontractor working in the area at the time of the incident that they can show they reinstated and reseeded the area which may then have been subsequently damaged by another lorry or vehicle. We are continuing our investigations.

Tom Carne, Epping Forest District Council spokesperson
