Cabinet member joins North Essex Economic Board
Cllr Holly Whitbread, Cabinet member for finance and economic development at Epping Forest District Council has joined the North Essex Economic Board (NEEB).
Partnership of councils
It is a partnership of councils across mid and North Essex, working together to make the area more prosperous for all by creating and exploring economic development opportunities.
Cllr Holly Whitbread said:
I’m so pleased to be part of the North Essex Economic Board (NEEB).
The partnership provides an opportunity for Epping Forest District Council to share and develop new ideas with other local authorities. It also helps us to provide more support to local businesses and allow our economy to grow and thrive.
The economy within the district is vibrant and diverse, based in a region that is successful and growing and located between the two international economic powerhouses of London and Cambridge.
Supporting residents and businesses
Improving skills of residents to get them back into work, help them change careers and establish or upgrade their IT skills is a key driver for the NEEB, along with supporting businesses and developing an economic strategy to improve inward investment.
A survey to discover the priorities of partnership members identified four key strategic priorities which have been built into the North Essex Vision:
- Innovative Businesses and Skilled Residents
- A Green and High Growth Economy
- A Dynamic and Connected Region
- Prosperous and Inclusive Communities
