The local lottery has been set up by Epping Forest District Council (EFDC) to help raise money for charities and good causes throughout the district.

Tickets cost £1 each, and winners could scoop up to £25,000. Draws will take place every Saturday at 8pm. The lucky winners will be informed by email and will have the money transferred automatically into their bank account.

Sign up as a good cause

30 good causes have already signed up to be part of the lottery. There is still time for others to join.

Each good cause is given its own page on the website to direct their supporters to. Causes will receive 50p from every £1 ticket sold, with a further 10p going into a Central Fund that will also be distributed to good causes.

Organisations must operate in or serve the Epping Forest district community to be eligible to join.

Take to the next level

2 organisations that have already signed up as good causes shared what being part of the lottery means to them.

Sarah from Haven House Children’s Hospice said:

Haven House Children’s Hospice is delighted to be joining the Epping Forest Community Lottery. Being supported by the lottery allows us to continue to provide physical, emotional and practical support to seriously ill children and their families, whenever and wherever families need us across the community.

Steven from North Weald Raiders said:

I signed up because my local Football club is self-funded. We look to bring our little community together through football. Running the club on a tight budget is tough with the amount we have to payout and I’m hoping this can help us take the club to the next level.
