    Report fly-tipping

    Fly-tipping is the illegal dumping of waste.

    We do not clear fly-tipping from private land, this is the landowner’s responsibility. However, we ask you to report fly-tipping incidents on private land so that we can investigate who is responsible.

    What we need to know

    • The date, time and place
    • The type and size of the fly-tip
    • A description of the person
    • The registration and description of the vehicle

    If you see someone fly-tipping

    • Do not approach them, they may react badly to being challenged
    • Do not touch the waste or open containers as they may contain hazardous material
    • Report it – call Essex Police if the offenders are still on site. After the event you can report the fly-tipping to us and we will investigate to find out who is responsible
