Energy saving upgrades

Housing, planning and environment news, News

Epping Forest District Council will be improving the energy efficiency of nearly 2,400 council homes between April 2025 and 2030.

First phase

The project’s first phase, running from April 2025 to March 2028, will focus on upgrading 1,500 homes. This will be supported by £2.22m of central government funding under the Warm Homes Social Housing Fund.

This initiative aims to help families reduce energy costs while enhancing the comfort and sustainability of their homes.

A range of improvements, including loft insulation top-ups, upgraded windows and doors, and solar panels, will boost the energy efficiency ratings of these properties to meet and exceed established standards.

Reduce energy bills

As a council, we are committed to improving the quality of life for our residents, and this significant investment in energy efficiency upgrades demonstrates that commitment in action.

The Warm Homes Plan will not only help families reduce their energy bills but also ensure their homes are more sustainable and comfortable for years to come.
