Happy Diwali

Community news, News

Diwali, known as the Festival of Lights, starts on 31 October and symbolises the triumph of light over darkness and good over evil.

A celebration for everyone

Cllr Les Burrows, Chairman of Epping Forest District Council, emphasised the significance of this festival for all residents:

Diwali is not just a festival for those who celebrate it; it is a celebration for everyone. It provides us with a wonderful platform to come together, unite in our diversity, and embrace the variety of cultures that make our district so special.

As families and friends light their lamps and gather for festivities, it is essential to remember the deeper meaning of Diwali. Each light that is lit reflects our shared values of friendship, respect, and acceptance, creating a warm glow of community spirit that we can all cherish.

Let us continue to celebrate and support one another as we embrace the rich cultural diversity that makes our community vibrant.

Happy Diwali to all.
