The private sector grants service helps vulnerable residents who are elderly or disabled to:
- Adapt
- Repair
- Improve
- Maintain their homes
The team can also help with home improvements to:
- Prevent hospital admission
- Support discharge from hospital
Apply for a disabled facilities grant
You may be eligible for a disabled facilities grant (DFG) to help with the cost of making adaptations to your home.

Save energy in your home
If you own a property you can get recommendations for home improvements that could make your property cheaper to heat and keep warm. For each recommendation you can see:
- An estimated cost of making the improvement
- How much you could save on your bills
- Next steps if you want to make the improvement

We are not operating a handyperson scheme at the current time.
