Blue-lidded recycling bin trial

The trial for a blue-lidded bin for recycling is now finished and we will not be accepting any further applications. We will now be considering the trial findings.

Residents currently using the blue-lidded recycling bin can continue to use the blue-lidded recycling bin.

About the trial

The trial was to see if a blue-lidded recycling bin could replace recycling sacks and the blue box.

All your recycling in one bin

Items that can be recycled in the blue-lidded bin:

• Glass bottles and jars – lids can be kept on
• Food tins and drink cans
• Clean paper, card and shredded paper
• Plastic household bottles, food trays, containers and tubs
• Aluminium foil and foil containers
• Aerosol cans
• Tetra Paks and other food cartons

This is a trial and subject to stock availability. There is no charge for your first blue-lidded recycling blue bin or repair.

About the blue-lidded recycling bin

You will get a standard 240-litre wheeled bin which is larger than your standard 180-litre food and garden and black bin.
